David Brown
Chief Executive Officer
Elected President of Mitchell Lewis & Staver in 1992, David entered into a purchase agreement with MLS stockholders that would allow him to purchase all outstanding shares of company stock. With the repurchase of stock complete in 2004, for the first time in company history MLS was under the ownership of a single person.
Under David’s leadership the company has flourished. His vision has streamlined the companies’ product offering and expanded into new markets through expansion and acquisition. As an innovator he has worked to make MLS more efficient and effective, bringing a real value and strategic partnership to MLS customers and vendors. His knowledge of the markets they serve makes him a subject matter expert for trade and industry organizations.
David is committed to developing a strong management team that will enable the company to achieve continued success. Mitchell’s is a democracy where everyone has a voice and an opportunity for personal and professional growth.
David received a Bachelor of Science in Science from Oregon State University in 1984 and joined MLS that same year, holding a variety of positions in all critical functional areas. Away from work he brings the same passion to his personal pursuits of cooking, exercise, landscaping and appreciation of the arts and nature.
Chris Seeley
Chief Financial Officer
Chis joined Mitchell Lewis & Staver in 2019, an experienced leader in both corporate and consulting capacities, having spent time disseminating and coaching to non-financial individuals – company stakeholders, clients, and peers. Chris is proficient in the complexities that tie financial analysis and decisions to real world outcomes. A critical thinker who emphasizes continuous learning.
Chris received his Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from Portland State University.
Greg Breckley
VP, Marketing & Business Development
Greg joined Mitchell Lewis & Staver in 2023 and was tasked with expanding the breadth and depth of the marketing team as its Senior Director. Greg has a history of success in growing brands while establishing market position, product portfolio, and improving the customer experience. Before his time with MLS, Greg spent nearly 20 years leading marketing, business development, and customer success teams for a material-handling equipment manufacturer.
Greg received his Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Marketing from Penn State University.
Ty Allen
Director of Branch Operations
Ty joined Mitchell’s in Jan 2018 as the branch manager of the Midvale branch. In 2020, Ty became the regional branch manager, overseeing the Rockies, Mountain States, and Michigan branches. Working with the branch teams put a focus on inventory selection, on-time delivery, and supply-chain strategy through the Covid-19 era. Then, in August 2023, Ty was promoted to the Director of Branch Operations role, overseeing all branches and their operational efficiency.
Before joining Mitchell’s Ty spent about 10 years in the oilfield with an oilfield service company doing solids control. Starting as a field tech, Ty was quickly promoted to supervisory roles including branch and regional manager titles.
Michelle McDonnell
Senior Director of Business Development
Michelle joined Mitchell Lewis & Staver in 2017 as Branch Manager of our location in Orange, California where she was quickly recognized as a product and market leader within the company. Michelle’s natural leadership and management capabilities earned her the role of Regional Branch Manager in 2019, then Director of Branch Operations in 2021. Michelle’s focus on new business and growth opportunities within Mitchell has her leading the way on both Commercial and Wastewater application initiatives. Michelle’s role will help expand Mitchell’s product’s line and categories to support new customer segments.
Prior to MLS, Michelle spent nearly 15 combined years with Western Hydro in various roles of increasing responsibility.
Jeremy Parks
Director of Human Resources
Jeremy joined Mitchell Lewis & Staver in 2019 as the Director of Human Resources for our 16 locations. Jeremy will leverage his prior experiences to drive best practices and balance excellence with innovation by adapting quickly to ever-changing environments and offering creative solutions in the areas of talent acquisition, employee relations, HRIS, culture development, and business strategy.
Jeremy holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Resource Management from Portland State University.
Jim Paulson
Board Member / Consultant
Jim Paulson has served as a board member of Mitchell Lewis & Staver since 2011, bringing strong sales, marketing, product development, and operational expertise to the table. He retired in December 2018 from his role as CEO of Healthco Information Systems, providing healthcare software solutions to independent medical practices. Prior to HealthCo, Jim was the President and COO of Viewpoint Construction Software, where he led their transformation and global expansion from 2008-2015 and ultimate sale to Bain Capital. Prior to Viewpoint, Jim was GM of GE’s Intrusion Security Group, which he led from 2004-2008.
In addition to Mitchell Lewis, Jim serves as an independent board member and consultant to private equity-backed companies including QuatrisHealthco and Bastion Security. Jim holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Wisconsin-LaCrosse and an MBA from the University of Oregon.
Peter Arezzini
Arezzini Consulting Inc.
Peter has served as a President/Chief Operating Officer of his company for over 15 years. He has taken divisions of Fortune 500 companies to double-digit growth through organic and acquisition strategies that are simple, yet powerful. He specializes in business strategy, positioning and long-term growth planning.
Peter gives his clients a current and accurate view of their enterprise while looking into the future to determine the best position moving into the future. Generating strategies and tactics from this proactive thinking, he helps them create action plans for Sales, Marketing, Operations and Product Development that align perfectly with their objectives. He focuses on CEOs and executive teams to develop a broad-based strategy for entirely new market segments and product categories.
His professional/corporate experience includes President, Arezzini Consulting, Inc.; President, Aegis Wireless Security, LLC; COO, GE Interlogix Security; and President, Sentrol, Inc. He currently serves on the Board of Advisors for The Ulven Companies, Inc.; Keri Systems, Inc. and Mitchell Lewis & Staver Co.
He has a BS in Economics from University of Hartford and a MBA with Marketing concentration from Golden Gate University.
Chris Sarles
Board Member / Consultant
Chris Sarles brings a wealth of experience and a distinguished career in the beverage industry, most recently having retired as CEO of Oregon Fruit Products in 2022 after successfully leading and repositioning the 88-year-old company for eight years.
Before his tenure at Oregon Fruit Products, Chris spent 25 years in the alcohol beverage industry. His career began in 1986 when he founded a small beer and wine distributor. Through strategic mergers and acquisitions, Chris was pivotal in managing parts of Columbia Distributing and Young’s Market Company of Oregon until 2014. His transition to Oregon Fruit Products marked a significant chapter where he demonstrated exceptional leadership and growth strategies.
Beyond his professional achievements, Chris is dedicated to giving back to the community. He is actively involved in organizations that mentor young entrepreneurs and support women and children affected by addiction and abuse. His commitment to these causes underscores his passion for fostering positive change and supporting future generations.
Chris, a proud native of the Northwest, graduated from Oregon State University. He has been married to his wife Liz for 33 years and is the proud father of two sons, Nathan and Henry, both OSU graduates. The Sarles family eagerly anticipates their second grandchild’s arrival in the new year.
National Ground Water Association
The National Ground Water Association is the hallmark organization for anyone affiliated with the groundwater industry. A nonprofit organization, NGWA is composed of U.S. and international groundwater professionals — contractors, scientists and engineers, equipment manufacturers, and suppliers.
Oregon Groundwater Association
Oregon Ground Water Association is a trade association for ground water professionals including well drilling, pump, and water treatment contractors, manufacturers and suppliers, technical associates, and others with interest in the Oregon's ground water industry. OGWA is dedicated to protecting, promoting, and educating the public about ground water.
Alaska Water Well Association
The Alaska Water Well Association (AWWA) was formed to become an effective voice for the state’s water well industry and continuously assists the members of the Alaska water well industry. Our objectives are to assist, promote and support the interests and welfare of all phases of the water well industry.
California Ground Water Association
The California Groundwater Association (CGA) is a non-profit organization that has promoted protection of groundwater since 1948. Our members include water well drilling and pump contractors, suppliers and manufacturers, geologists, engineers, hydrologists, government employees and others working in the groundwater field.
Washington State Groundwater Association
Washington State Ground Water Association (WSGWA), a trade association for ground water professionals, is dedicated to protecting, promoting, and educating ground water professionals and the public about the safe use of ground water.
Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association
The Idaho Irrigation Equipment Association was incorporated as a non-profit corporation February 22, 1971. It currently has more than 115 members including wholesale suppliers, retail dealers, equipment manufacturers, public utilities and financial institutions engaged in serving Idaho’s agricultural and landscape irrigation needs.
Idaho Groundwater Association
The Idaho Ground Water Association (IGWA) is an entity that represents members of the ground water industry with a unified voice to preserve and protect it. IGWA is actively involved in the Idaho Legislature and pursues discussions and meetings with local and state government entities and other professional organizations to enhance the Industry and protect the resource.
Montana Water Well Drillers Association
The purpose of the MWWDA is to organize, maintain and operate a trade association for the benefit of its members. To collect and share with its members any scientific, educational or general trade information regarding the subject of well drilling and the sanitary aspects thereof.
Utah Groundwater Association
Utah Ground Water Association is a community of groundwater experts who advance the knowledge of groundwater and work together to ensure the success of its members through education, outreach, cooperative information exchange, advocacy, and professional practice enhancement.
For over 30 years we have continued to search for safe, clean and abundant groundwater sources, and have been a major source of continuing education for our members.
Colorado Water Well Contractors Association
The objectives of the Colorado Water Well Contractors Association are to assist, promote, encourage, and support the interests and welfare of the Water Well Industry in all its phases generally, and in particular within Colorado.
To foster, aid and promote scientific education, standards, research and techniques in order to improve methods of well construction and development, and to advance the science of ground water hydrology.
Water Systems Council
Founded in 1932, the Water Systems Council (WSC) is a national nonprofit organization with programs solely focused on private water wells and small, shared wells serving more than 13 million households nationwide (US Census American Housing Survey 2015).
WSC is committed to ensuring that Americans who depend on wells have safe, reliable drinking water and works to educate well owners, consumers, and policymakers at the local, state and federal levels about water wells and the importance of protecting America’s groundwater resources.
Arizona Water Well Association
The Arizona Water Well Association was formed in 1957 and reorganized in 1977 to become an effective voice for the state’s water well industry, continuously assisting members of the Arizona water well industry.
Our objectives are to assist, promote and support the interests and welfare of all phases of the water well industry. To achieve these, we work to advance well construction and development methods and to advance the science of ground water hydrology. Harmony and cooperation are sought among contractors, suppliers, technical personnel and government agencies.
Wyoming Groundwater Association
The Wyoming Ground Water Association (WGWA) has been a trade association protecting ground water since 1965. We refer Wyoming citizens to member drilling and pump contractors, geologists, hydrologists, engineers, governmental employees, industry suppliers and manufacturers.
Irrigation Association
The Irrigation Association is the leading membership organization for irrigation equipment and system manufacturers, dealers, distributors, designers, consultants, contractors and end users.
Mountain States Groundwater Association
The Mountain States Groundwater Expo is held annually in Laughlin, Nevada, and hosted by the Ground Water and Water Well Associations of Arizona, Colorado, Nevada, New Mexico and Utah.
