What are Dewatering Pumps?

Dewatering is a common term used to describe the removal or extraction of groundwater or surface water from a construction site, mine shaft, or other area. Depending on the application, a variety of pumps can be utilized for dewatering.

Portable Submersible Dewatering Pumps

For pumping large quantities of dirty water

Submersible Turbine

Best suited for deep excavations where large water volumes need to be discharged

Axiel & Mixed Flow Turbine

Used in Flood control for storm water and mining

Wastewater Pumps

Used in Bypass Dewatering for pipe maintenance and solids handling

Vertical Lineshaft Turbine

For deep set applications where motor efficiency and reliability are of high importance.

Centrifugal Pumps

Highly configurable pump for nearly any application.

  • Construction
  • Mining
  • General water removal
  • Storm water
  • Sludge and slurry removal

On a construction site, dewatering may be implemented before sub-surface excavation for foundations, shoring, or cellar space to lower the water table. This frequently involves the use of submersible “dewatering” pumps.

Our dewatering pumps and dewatering packaged systems have been used in a wide variety of project large and small, including sensitive construction projects such as dewatering historic buildings. We can help you choose a stock dewatering pump, or our in-house engineering staff can provide the design expertise to create the best packaged system for your unique needs.
