Mitchell Lewis & Staver launches all new MICA-202 VFD Control Panel product line to ensure energy efficient technologies are within reach of every farm, greenhouse, vineyard and orchard.
Wilsonville, Oregon, March 1, 2022 – Today, Mitchell Genuine Controls, the manufacturing division of Mitchell Lewis & Staver, introduces the MICA-202 VFD Control Panel to the U.S Agriculture Market. Efficient electrical improvements and reduced peak demand charges on a community’s power grid can save the average farm around 30% a year on energy costs. The new MICA-202 VFD Panel meets or exceeds all state energy and UL safety requirements and connects American agriculture with the resources it needs to plan for an energy efficient future.
“Inspired by the voice of our customers, and many years in designing and manufacturing VFD panels, we have engineered a new standard of electrical control panel with the features and capabilities to offer powerful pump control which can be monitored remotely from a connected device, and to detect and perform, in real-time, alarms and actions that will protect the pump and equipment – increasing the longevity of the entire system.” comments CEO David Brown. “Such features will directly impact and support conservation of our most precious natural resources and, in an industry first, all these features come standard in MICA-202.”
Product development for the MICA-202, an acronym for Mitchell Intelligent Control for Agriculture, began in 2020 with meticulous attention towards listening to customer and installer feedback, sourcing quality components, constructing to UL code, and programming features dedicated to water, wastewater, and irrigation applications. Mitchell’s best-in-class warranty includes an industry-leading 5-year protection on the enclosure and up to 72-month enhanced optional protection on the VFD drive, parts and labor to protect against line anomalies, lightning strikes, accidental moisture, corrosion, and physical damage to the unit due to collision.
MICA-202 panels are powered by Danfoss VLT Aqua Drive FC-202 drives to provide the highest level of performance, flexibility, and energy efficiency for AC motor driven applications and is compatible with all new motor technologies. Other standard features include 65kAIC SCCR rating, hand-off-auto switch and speed potentiometer, metal handle and locking tab panel disconnect, fan and filtered cooling with thumb screws for simple servicing, and a solid keypad cover to protect and extend keypad life.
Mitchell Lewis & Staver, headquartered in Wilsonville, Oregon is committed to partnering with customers to develop solutions that support the future of their industry. “Based on extensive research of what the market is demanding, Mitchell’s MICA-202 VFD Panel meets all these needs with superior performance and is backed by a best-in-class warranty. We are thrilled to announce, starting today, these panels are readily available with optional Input Line Reactor, TVSS Surge Arrestor, and DV/DT Output Filter.” says CFO/COO Ean Reves. “We encourage all our customers to contact their local sales representative to learn more about how MICA-202 is the best solution to meet their needs for variable speed applications.”
